WA: 94 - The 2020 Clos Lunelles is deep purple-black colored, it springs from the glass with vibrant notes of crushed black cherries and black raspberries, giving way to hints of wild blueberries, chocolate box and cardamom with a touch of violets. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of crunchy, energetic black and red fruits, supported by fine-grained tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and lifted.
Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon is the appellation title for Côtes de Bordeaux wines made specifically in the Castillon district, at the very eastern edge of Bordeaux. Until 2009, these wines were sold as Côtes de Castillon.
All Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon wines are red, made predominantly from Merlot, which accounts for about 70 percent of the harvest. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are the main supporting grape varieties. Malbec, Petit Verdot and even Carmenère are also permitted.
