A new world bargain. Black cherries, raspberries and spice on the nose. More on the palate with a good body and soft and yet sturdy tannins and a lovely red fruit finish with a refreshing touch of acidity.

Kara-Tara is a new joint-venture between Rüdger van Wyk (2018 Diners Club Young Winemaker of the Year) and José Conde of Stark-Condé Wines. The name “Kara-Tara” refers to a small town near Knysna, located in South Africa, on the Cape South Coast, facing the Indian Ocean. It is the place where winemaker Rüdger van Wyk grew up. Translated from the Khoisan, the language from the first people in Southern Africa, it means “deep dark shadows” and refers to the Karatara river that runs through the town.
