Cabernet Sauvignon “Dante”, Michael Pozzan, CA, 2016
Michael's wine roots trace back to the late 1800's in Piedmont, Italy where his great grandfather first
planted vines. After traveling to America in the early-mid 1900's, Michael’s grandfather moved to
Sonoma where he planted 35 acres of Zinfandel in 1948. Some of these original vines still exist today and
can be seen at the end of Pozzan Road in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. Michael Pozzan proudly presents
Dante, named after his eldest son, Michael Dante Pozzan, and inspired by wines savored during travels
through the Italian countryside.
Tasting Notes: The mouth is rich and dense, with layers of freshly roasted coffee, chocolate covered
cherries, a solid oak structure lending clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon, and a bright, juicy acid just ready
for food. The finish is lengthy and perfumed with Tahitian vanilla bean.
Cabernet Sauvignon “Hillside", Juggernaut, CA 2017
Hillside vineyards have less access to water, with the rockier soil also holding fewer nutrients. These
conditions stress the vines, resulting in the production of a fraction of the fruit of most vineyards. The
harsh environment causes the vines to struggle, yielding fewer clusters and smaller berry size. Since
most of the flavor resides in the grape skins, the result is berries that are loaded with rich, ripe, intensely
concentrated flavors and complexity.
Tasting Notes: Dense and velvety, with vanilla and ripe black currents. Aromatics of anise, black fruit and
cassis with smooth, luxurious texture.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Austin Hope, Paso Robles, CA, 2018
In 1978, a family of four arrived in Paso Robles to start a new life and in time, the Hope family became
one of the area’s top grape growers. Austin Hope grew up working alongside his father, inheriting his
love and respect for the region. Today, Austin is showcasing an even greater sweep of the Paso region
and expressing a similar richness with a recently released Cabernet Sauvignon. The source of the wine is
far-reaching within the appellation - a most discerning group of vineyards located on gently sloping
hillsides and hidden pockets across the domain, providing dimension to the Cabernet varietal.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby in color, it expresses aromas of fresh black currants and cherries accompanied
by subtle smoky notes and dried spices. On the palate, this lavish powerful wine is layered with juicy
blackberry, ripe cherry, vanilla bean and brown butter. It’s full-bodied and rich, balanced by a touch of
bright acidity and firm polished tannins.
