The "Sardus Pater" winery is located on the Isle of Sant'Antioco, on the south-western part of Sardinia. Founded in 1949 as a co-operative firm, it began business in 1955. Over the years production has been honed down and is concentrated mainly on making the most of Carignano grapes. "The 2008 Moscato di Cagliari Amentos is a very pretty, soft dessert wine. Tangerine peel, flowers, mint, sage and rosemary are some of the nuances that flow from this refreshing, mid-weight offering. The Amentos is best paired with fruit-based desserts or fresh cheeses."
