Forks & Corks 2017:  "Bronze Award"

The color is clear and bright, with a hint of green. The nose is clean and fresh with expressive granadilla, grape fruit, gooseberry and black currant characteristics. These flavors follow through onto the palate, which has a lovely creamy texture – the result of the higher Semillon portion.

Paul Cluver Wines is a family owned and family run winery, focused on producing wines that reflect the uniqueness of the cool-climate Elgin terroir. The family is proud to have pioneered the Elgin appellation and for being seen as a leader in the sustainable farming.

"The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is blended with 10% Semillon and is matured in used oak. It has a clean and fresh bouquet with Apple blossom and kiwi fruit aromas, subtle at first but unfolding nicely with time. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, a nice phenolic note on the entry with white peach and green apple towards the vivacious finish. This is a worthy follow up to the 2015."
