Wines Under $20

Merlot, Margarita Vineyard, Broadside, Paso Robles, CA, 2019

AG 90 : A merlot that showed a bit of plushness up front, but then more of a woody/herbal character that I just don't get out of Cali merlot. It was refreshing, with minimal tannin, and good acidity.

Sauvignon Blanc, Paul Cluver, Elgin, ZA, 2020

TA 91 : The color is clear and bright, with a hint of green. The nose is clean and fresh with expressive granadilla, grapefruit, gooseberry, and black currant characteristics. It has a lovely creamy texture; the result of the higher Semillon portion.

Beaujolais-Village, Joseph Drouhin, Burgundy, FR, 2018

A truly convivial wine. Owing to the careful blending of various terroirs, the result is a wine of great charm. It has a lovely raspberry colour and a brilliant hue. The nose is both refined and intense, with notes of violet, peony and red fruit syrup.

The ensuing wine is amazingly complex and classic Napa Valley. The aroma is cedar, cola, dark black fruit and just a kiss of oak.

Sparkling "Bliss", Graham Beck, Western Cape, ZA, NV

Fresh notes of ripe citrus and stone fruit flavours complimented by enchanting hints of butterscotch, honey and praline, this unapologetically fun and utterly captivating

Cabernet Sauvignon "Freakshow", Michael & David, 2019

Bing cherry, fig, strawberry jam and a hint of baking spice. He is larger-than-life, medium in body and showcases flavors of bright red fruits, toasted hazelnut and clove with a fruit-forward, lingering finish.
