Zinfandel "Duarte", Turley, Napa Valley, CA, 2018

$44.95 Excl. tax

RP 90 : Deep ruby-purple color and bombastic aromas of dried coconut, turned earth, chocolate and lush black fruits. The palate is medium-bodied but firmly framed, with rustic flavors, good freshness and an uncomplicated finish.

This wine is an homage to Joe Duarte, a prominent grape grower in Contra Costa who first introduced Turley to the incredible vineyards of the area. The wine is comprised of fruit from the Evanghelo, Mori, and Salvador vineyards, all in Contra Costa. The soil here is primarily sand, and as a result the wines have some of the softest, silkiest tannins we've ever seen in a Zinfandel.
Turley Wine Cellars makes forty-seven wines from over fifty vineyards, the vast majority of which are single vineyard designate Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs. By focusing on old vine vineyards in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California's unique winemaking culture.

All of our vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and we use all natural yeasts in the fermentations.

We aim to be stewards of some of California's most historic vineyards, producing distinctive wines that reflect their heritage.
