Tasting Profile

Expect a rich Napa style with ripe apple, pear, pineapple and stone fruit, layered with vanilla, toasted almond, brioche and baking spice. Barrel aging contributes a creamy, rounded texture, while Yountville acidity provides freshness and balance. The overall Deux Chevaux profile is substantially richer and more oak-influenced than Tamber Bey’s stainless-steel Sans Chêne bottling.

Sommelier’s Take

Rich, creamy and classically Napa in style, but with enough acidity to prevent it from becoming heavy. At seven years from vintage, a well-stored bottle should show increasingly developed notes of baked apple, honey, toasted nuts and brioche alongside its remaining tropical fruit.
