Wine Notes:
Sand driven Gold Ridge soil.
Bottled since 1979. Located in the heart of where the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast appellations intersect and planted in the sand driven Gold Ridge soil series. We’ve been lucky to have worked with the Dutton family since nearly our inception. A Chardonnay of precision, with focused, structural acids threaded through a body of delicate orchard fruit tones topped by soil driven aromatics.

You can feel the skins from the grapes, with an apple skin, pear and light pineapple character and texture. It’s full and layered with a sense of muscle and form. Creme caramel and flan notes. Snappy at the end. Give it three or four years to come around.

The 2022 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch pours a bright yellow hue and is showing a fantastic savory side, with notes of preserved citrus, chive, delicate toast, and salted pear. Medium to full-bodied, it is another elegant wine with mouthwatering fresh acidity in this vintage. It is long on the palate and floats away with ease. Drink it over the next 10 years. 13,188 bottles produced.

The 2022 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch is a dynamic wine that unfolds over hours and then days. In the beginning, the nose is dominated by citrus and saline, but with time it reveals apricot, citrus blossoms, green pineapple and exotic undertones. The medium-bodied palate pairs concentration and freshness. Its ripe, satiny, mouth-coating flavors are enlivened by bright acidity, and its long, flavorful, juicy finish calls you back for another taste.
