Tasting notes: Aromas of golden apple, baked pear, lemon, tangerine blossom, vanilla and toasted oak lead into a medium-bodied, creamy palate. Look for nectarine, lemon curd, fresh apple and almond, with baking spice and crème brûlée developing toward the finish.
Winemaking: Fermented and matured entirely in French oak, 40% new, for 10 months. Wine Advocate describes the texture as plump and silky, with lemon and pineapple giving way to fresher citrus on the mouthwatering finish.
Sommelier take: A crowd-friendly California Chardonnay with enough oak and creaminess for guests who enjoy a richer style, while Carneros acidity keeps it from becoming overly heavy. Excellent with lobster, scallops, salmon, roast chicken, creamy pasta or richer seafood dishes.
