The property

Coralie de Boüard and her husband Loïc Maillet acquired Chateau Close de Bouard  in 2016, located in the Montagne Saint-Émilion satellite appellation. 

The vineyard

Château Clos de Boüard watches over a vineyard covering an area of ​​30 hectares. The vines, around 40 years old, planted on south-facing clay-limestone hillsides, produce a great mountain wine.

Winemaking and aging

Pre-fermentation maceration at 8-10°C. Alcoholic fermentation. Maceration for 3 to 5 weeks. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels. Vinification by plot, accompanied by manual punching down. Aging lasts 18 months in barrels (30% in new barrels and 36% in barrels of one wine).

Assembly

Château Clos de Boüard 2022 is made from a blend of  Merlot  (85%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%)
