Sommelier Presentation Note
2022 Château Pédesclaux, Pauillac
A standout Pauillac from Bordeaux's exceptional 2022 vintage, offering expressive aromas of blackcurrant, violet, graphite, and tobacco. Concentrated yet refined, the palate layers ripe dark fruit, polished tannins, and mineral complexity, finishing long, vibrant, and beautifully structured.

A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, aging in 65% new oak, the 2022 Pedesclaux has a deep garnet-purple color. It shoots from the glass with vivacious notes of warm cassis, wild blueberries, and kirsch, plus hints of candied violets and dark chocolate with a waft of anise. The medium to full-bodied palate is so plush and juicy with a lively backbone to inject energy and a long fragrant finish. Very pretty!
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points
Bright black cherries, violets, leafy tobacco, and some meaty, iron, and mineral notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Pédesclaux, a beautifully textured, layered Pauillac that has medium to full-bodied richness, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. I think it’s certainly as good as the 2018, 2019, and 2020 and is a classic Pauillac from this team that will benefit from 4-5 years and evolve nicely over the following two decades.
Wine Advocate 91 Points
Now certified organic, the 2022 Pedésclaux exhibits aromas of dark berries, plums and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, suave and refined palate that's a touch lean on the finish. As it fleshes out with élevage, it should come into better balance.
