The Rioja wines of Oxer play in their own league, free from any convention. No fat or overripeness, never slain by wood, always elegant, terroir embossed and precise. Ahari is a new wine, it comes mainly from around 100 year old vines from several parts of Rioja, but here is also about too many. 20-30% material of younger vines in it, which are rooted on limestone. 60% Tempranillo, 30% Graciano, 10% Viura. Spontaneously fermented, 20% untrapped all grape. Expansion in wood and concrete egg. Playful-floral nose, violet, cardiac cherry and raspberry, also undergrowth, black pepper, olive and a very fine ethereal freshness. The not inconsiderable part of whole grapes already gives a distinct spice and a slight funky twist. On the palate then very straight on the fine fruit, sweet and sour currant, raspberry, fleur de sel and extremely fine-grained tannin. Sounds silky, with ingenious length. A really chic Rioja in a modern style, not fully making, simply extremely drinking and with good potential.
