An exceptionally good second wine, succulent black cherry and damson fruit, easy to approach with vibrant mint notes and silky, well-textured tannins, 15% new oak. Good density.
92pts Vinous
Baron de Brane is especially fine in 2020. Rich, succulent and inviting, Baron de Brane will be an absolute delight to drink right out of the gate. Succulent ripe cherry, spice and leather notes are pushed forward in this mid-weight second wine from Brane-Cantenac
92pts James Suckling
Attractive aromas of dark and blue fruit, some violets, walnut and graphite. It’s medium-bodied with finely grained tannins and a delicate, vivid blue fruit character. Chalky finish. Try after 2024.
The name of our second wine honours Baron Jacques-Maxime de Brane, who owned the estate in the 19th century. Blended from vats carefully selected for their suppleness, it is aged just like the First Wine, but for a 12-month period.
Beautiful intense color, with a deep purple color. The fresh and expressive nose, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and redcurrant, mixed with melted and toasted woody notes, reveals a real aromatic complexity. In the mouth, the supple attack evolves on a round
and greedy mid-mouth, to give way to a finish with silky and melted tannins, offering a very nice balance. A beautiful aromatic length, punctuated by aromas of black fruits, mingling with aromas of red fruits underlines the elegance. To drink between 2023 and 2025. Aerate before serving.
