Beautiful stuff, the 2022 Château Fombrauge is locked and loaded with red and black fruits as well as notes of melted chocolate, leafy tobacco, flowers, and spice. A hedonistic bomb offering full-bodied richness and a round, mouth-filling texture, with sweet tannins and remarkable freshness, it's a no-brainer Saint-Emilion that will evolve for two decades.
93-95pts Vinous
The 2022 Frombrauge is superb. Rich, heady and super expressive, the 2022 offers up succulent black cherry, plum, violet mocha and licorice. As always, Frombrauge is on the richer side, but this is one of the best vintages I can remember tasting. Gorgeous.–Antonio Galloni

Blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate with some spice. Medium to full body. Juicy finish. Very fine and fresh. Savory. Could move up a notch. From organically grown grapes. 71% merlot and 29% cabernet franc.
93pts Decanter
Lively and nice energy here, clean and sculpted, fresh and forward, this manages a nice combination of upfront, bright and quite vibrant fruit with clean, crisp and cool tannins that really work together. Still quite straight and lean, not exuberant but I like the style, it's focussed and nicely weighted on the palate giving lots of flavour intensity but keeping lifted and appealing. A nice buy. Tannic but so pure and precise with bite. Easy. Harvest 12-29 September. Yield of 43hl/ha.
History
The history of Fombrauge realizes the genesis of great wines in St. Emilion. The acquisition of Fombrauge in March 1999 by Bernard Magrez gave the vintage a boost in terms of product quality by bringing the rigor of expertise.
The heart of an area of 75 hectares, 52 planted to date, is beautifully situated on a limestone plateau. The vineyard possesses the three main soil profiles of Saint-Emilion, producing wines of great finesse.
