Château La Tour De Bessan is loaded with red and black fruits as well as spicy oak, lead pencil, and violets, with medium-bodied richness, terrific overall balance, integrated tannins, and a solid mid-palate, it should certainly be an outstanding wine and offer 10-15 years or more of prime drinking.

Savory olive notes here alongside dark berry fruit, walnuts and licorice. Juicy and fresh with a nicely firm tannin frame, medium body and a more mineral finish. Try in 2024.
Winery History
The estate
Owned by Marie-Laure Lurton, Chateau La Tour de Bessan was originally an ancient tower that dates back to the 13th century. Chateau La Tour de Bessan stands out due to its contemporary building, designed by the Toulouse-based architect Vincent Defos du Rau. Driven by Marie-Laure Lurton’s enthusiasm, the estate has greatly evolved. The vineyard has been reorganized and considerable decisions have been made regarding the vines. From the 2003 vintage onwards, the vineyard bears the "terra vitis" certificate. Chateau La Tour de Bessan has also acquired state-of-the-art technical facilities which have enabled this beautiful estate to stand out among the finest references in the Margaux appellation. Thus, this estate has obtained the Crus Bourgeois title.
