The 2016 Indaco (Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) is laced with a whole range of floral and savory notes that give it a very distinctive aromatic profile. Crushed raspberry, blood orange, rose petal, mint and cedar are all laced together. Medium in body and silky, the 2016 has plenty to offer. I find the aromatics a bit diffuse, although aeration does seem to help. Otherwise, this Malbec-based blend is nicely done.

A blend of Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this presents aromas of dark-skinned berry, underbrush and cedar. The dense palate offers toasted oak, black currant jam and licorice set against assertive, rather astringent tannins. You'll also notice the warmth of evident alcohol. Drink through 2025.

Black fruit, stewed tomato and sweet spice on the nose. It’s full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Dusty and structured with a savory character. Spicy finish. Drink or hold.

A blend of equal parts Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the Tenuta Sette Cieli 2016 Indaco boasts dark color concentration and rich fruit flavors that all veer to the dark side of the spectrum with dried blackberry, plum and black currant. This wine shows an especially focused and linear approach that I associate with this classic vintage. But there is also a touch of the tannic or phenolic dryness that I remember from the 2015 vintage. The taste profile is augmented by spice, toast and other aromas from the oak aging. Some 10,000 bottles were made. The wine offers a playful touch of Argentina in Tuscany.
