Bòggina C Riserva is Petrolo's flagship 100% Sangiovese, sourced from a historic organically farmed vineyard first planted in the 1950s. Fermented with native yeasts and aged 16–18 months in large French oak, it is one of Tuscany's benchmark single-vineyard Sangioveses.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby with captivating aromas of black cherry, wild raspberry, rose petals, dried orange peel, violets, crushed herbs, tobacco, graphite, and earthy spice. The palate is layered and elegant, offering vibrant red and dark berry fruit framed by silky tannins, bright acidity, and pronounced mineral tension. Notes of tea leaf, leather, savory herbs, and subtle oak emerge on the exceptionally long, refined finish. Powerful yet graceful, it beautifully expresses the purity of Sangiovese and its unique terroir.

James Suckling 95Points
“This is so perfumed and beautiful, with brightness and aromatic complexity. Medium-
bodied with ultra-fine tannins and a long, persistent finish. Tangy and vivid. Orange-
peel undertones. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.”
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94Points
“Showing extra richness and concentration, the organic Petrolo 2020 Val d'Arno di
Sopra Bòggina C is a single-vineyard expression of Sangiovese. Ripe fruit flavors and
black cherry cede to delicate aromas of cola, blue flower and crushed stone. The tannins
are delicate and carefully woven into the wine's softly velvety and generous textural
fiber.”
