An elegant version, fine and creamy in texture and backed by lively, orange peel acidity. A streak of smoke-tinged minerality underscores flavors of almond madeleine, poached pear, anise and preserved lemon. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Drink now.
91pts James Suckling
This is showing aromas of apricots, grapefruit, pears and short crust. Some walnuts, too. Medium-bodied, with soft bubbles and tasty nut and pie crust notes at the end. Blend of pinot noir, meunier and chardonnay. 24 months on the lees.
91pts Decanter
Slightly smoky reductive nose with notes of chalk dust, quince, and wild strawberry. Bright apple freshness on a yeasty, mellow palate and lovely balance with a gentle resonance.
91pts Jeb Dunnuck
A golden straw appearance, the NV Champagne Imperial Brut is creamy and decadent with aromas of crème brûlée, candied citrus, and baked golden apple. Juicy and ripe, it fills the palate with sweet fruit of pear compote and quince and reveals a supple texture as well as a fluffy mousse. Quaffable, with a touch of fruity sweetness lasting on the finish, it’s prime for drinking over the next few years as an aperitif.
90pts Wine Enthusiast
This Champagne gets better and better. It has a fine dryness with a crisp apple and citrus character. That goes with the touches of maturity that give the wine fine balance. Drink now.
Winemaker's Notes
An elegant golden straw yellow with amber highlights. Its aromas are radiant, revealing bright yellow-fleshed fruits (apple, pear, yellow peach), honey, floral nuances (lime blossom) and elegant blond notes (brioche and fresh nuts). The palate is seductive, richly flavorful and smooth combining generosity and subtlety, fullness and vigor, followed by a delicately fresh crispiness (fruit with seeds), to reveal the magical balance of Champagne.
History
History of Moet & Chandon
Moet & Chandon was founded as Moet et Cie in 1743 by Claude Moet. At the end of the 18th century, Claude's grandson Jean-Remy Moet took over the business and introduced Champagne and the Moet brand to the rest of the world. It wasn't until 1833, when Jean-Remy’s son-in-law, Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles, joined the business that the House was renamed Moet & Chandon.
The Moet & Chandon Brand
Since its founding, Moet & Chandon has been the Champagne of success and glamour. The important figures of the era, from the Marquise de Pompadour to Napoleon, quickly fell in love with the House’s effervescent wine. Renowned for its achievements and legendary pioneering spirit, Moet & Chandon is synonymous with both cherished traditions and modern pleasures and has helped celebrate life’s most triumphant moments for more than 270 years.
