97pts Wine Enthusiast
Winemaker Matt Dees is considered one of the best winemakers anywhere, and this blend is ample reason to believe the hype. Intense, focused and dry but rich aromas of dark fruit, roasted wood, crushed rocks and wild herb enliven the nose, while the palate is weighty yet expertly tense. Flavors of dried red fruit, peppery spice and milk chocolate float into the finish.
96pts James Suckling
The black berry character dominates here but there is plenty of crushed stones as well as orange peel. It’s full-bodied yet so refined and gorgeous. Subtle and complex flavors of fruit and dark earth. Creamy textured tannins. A blend of 48% syrah, 26% cabernet sauvignon, 10% petite sirah, 9% merlot, 2% sangiovese and 2% of other grapes. Some co-fermentation. Drink or hold.
93pts Jeb Dunnuck
The 2019 Todos checks in as its usual kitchen sink blend of 48% Syrah, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah, 9% Merlot, 2% Sangiovese, and the rest assorted other varieties. This wine has been a perennial winner for over a decade now, and the 2019 reveals a dense purple hue as well as pure red and blue fruits followed by ample pepper, pen ink, graphite, and herbal nuances. I love its balance, it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, elegant texture, and outstanding length.
92pts Decanter
The daring blend 'Todos' (meaning 'All') includes every variety grown on the estate. Still the wine manages to carry the distinctive character of the Syrah and Cabernet that cornerstone the wine. Brambly black and blueberry notes are wrapped with smoke and spice and earth, and with whiffs of violet and liquorice. The palate is coherent and focused, its lush, bright fruit—blackberry and plum—layered with exotic spices, crushed rock, and a hint of savoury salinity, all backed by the firm structure of the Cab.
92pts Vinous
The 2019 Todos is a fleshy, supple, easygoing wine that will drink well pretty much right out of the glass and also for a number of years. Jonata's entry level Todos remains the hidden jewel in this range, as it offers tons of character at a very accessible price. Dark cherry, cedar, tobacco and a whole range of spice notes linger in this gorgeoous, Syrah-based blend. I would open the 2019 well in advance or give it a year or two in bottle, as there is plenty of youthful tannin that needs to soften a bit.
