Pungent nose of juicy fruit; buttery for the appellation. Nice and easy, very soft, candied. Some fresh apricot in the mouth; creamy, thick, easy, very silky.
A great match for seafood, shellfish or simply for an "aperitif."
Chardonnay Les Grandes Coutures is from 3 plots bordering Meursault with vine ages from 15 to 51 years. Soils are predominantly argile (clay), bringing weight & texture to this Bourgogne Blanc. The wine was aged from 12 to 14 months in 15-20% percent new
Winemaker Notes
From a south-facing single-vineyard in the commune of Vaulicheres, east of Chablis. Two thirds of the fruit is barrel-fermented and aged, the remaining fruit is in tank.
Clear in color already. A lovely elegant nose, quite classy for appellation. Round, almondy fruit with a little bit more oak then usual for Bourgogne Blanc. This has good balance, with lemon/lime, cream and some anise on the finish.
