Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Charmois is a lieu-dit sitting on the south side of the combe behind the town with a northeast exposition. Les Charmois ripens later and displays pretty fruit character with pronounced earthiness and is firmly structured.
Situated in Chassagne-Montrachet in the south of the Cote d'Or, Chateau de la Maltroye has been a family property since 1939. It is easily recognizable by its 18th century, glazed tile roof. The vineyard encompasses over 32 acres in Chassagne-Montrachet
Very typical perfumed nose, much more intense than the preceding wines. Much richer fruit. The mid- palate is very luscious with strong acids & some orange peel accents. It has power but isn’t too heavy. Long, high acid & persistent fruit on the finish.
Medley of key lime lemon zest & yuzu. Beyond the citrus nose with green banana honeydew & cardamom. Aromatic expression carries through on the palate where it finds balance with flaky pie crust & creamy richness. Layered with oak spice & balanced acidity.

Nose is comprised by notes of exotic tea plum & anise along with a subtle floral hint. There is again very good richness volume & vibrancy to the medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a youthfully austere balanced & sneaky long finale.

The fruit ripens well here and the wine shows a ripe, exotic note on the nose, while the palate has a dense, rich texture, but the wine never loses sight of its balance. Lovely length and great potential for ageing
RP: 93. Aromas of red rose and crushed strawberries with a smooth, round palate and flavors of Japanese plum, warm cherry, and milk chocolate. A hint of creme de cassis and soft currant linger on the finish.
