Winemaker Notes
A deep, ruby-crimson color. Aromas of Mediterranean maquis vegetation with eucalyptus & pine needle, black plum & damson. Full & satisfying on the palate with ripe, fruits of the forest flavors, seasoned with peppery tannins.
Our classic blend comprised our favorite three Mediterranean varieties, Syrah, Mourvèdre & Viognier. We utilized more of our own grapes & were fortunate to focus on the Swartland profile, which lends notes of dark brooding fruit, violets & olive tapenade.
Sella Antica Vino Rosso 2022 (Tuscany) shows cherry, plum, blackberry, dried herbs and spice. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity and soft tannins, it is fruit-forward, easy-drinking and food-friendly with a simple, clean finish.
Château Marjosse Bordeaux red with ripe berries, vanilla, licorice, cocoa and walnut notes. Medium-bodied, creamy texture, supple tannins and a fruit-forward style. Rated ~90–91 pts, offering finesse and value above its appellation.

A very pretty Bolgheri red with currant, chocolate and hazelnut aromas and flavors. It’s full and layered with firmness and freshness. Tight at the end, with a lovely texture and finesse to the tannins. Drink or hold.
Te Mata Estate Awatea Cabernets Merlot 2021 shows blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, cedar, cocoa, lavender and tobacco with marine hints. Medium–full-bodied, chalky tannins and bright acidity give structure and a long finish. Rated ~95–96 pts.

Cyrus Wines 2012 is a Bordeaux blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Shows cassis, plum, cedar, cola, spice and earth. Medium-bodied, structured with firm tannins. Rated 90–93 pts.
Combines the "Noble Five": Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), Merlot (17%), Malbec (13%), Cabernet Franc (12%) & Petit Verdot (5%). Wine aged for 12 months in small, mainly French oak barrels. It is an excellent companion to lamb dishes with garlic & rosemary.
